The creation of the Verdon Natural Regional Park in 1997 was the official recognition of the richness of the natural and cultural heritage of the Verdon region and the need to conserve it for us all. With its 45 adjoining communes in the Alpes de Haute Provence (04) and the Var (83) it covers a surface area of 17,770 square kilometers and a population of 19,585 inhabitants.
