If you are on foot, spend a morning in Saint André les Alpes discovering it’s many fountains, then walk along the Verdon River and visit the statues of the two saints with forget to visit the local shop selling lavender essence and the excellent local saucisson.

After visiting the fossil museum in Castellane go to Col des Lèques. A walk through the woods brings you to the hidden Vallée des Sirènes, a paleontological rock face that is unique in the world. The hundreds of bones of sea mammals remind us that 40 millions years ago, this region was covered by the sea. Return via Barreme and, before Moriez, don’t miss the unique salt-water source.
